ABOUT

Francesc Nel·lo Deakin is a choreographer, dancer and writer focusing on stage productions. He trained at institutions including the Hamburg Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp.

As a freelancer, Francesc has choreographed for the opera Hänsel und Gretel alongside Manon Andral at the Deutsches Nationaltheater und Staatskapelle Weimar and collaborated on choreographic works with Matthias Vaucher including Cry for Rest, Andante and Shade of a Day among others. He has also performed in productions such as Skin Hunger by Johanna Nuutinen, Voodoo Waltz by Imre and Marne van Opstal, and toured as a guest performer with the Hessisches Staatsballett. 

Francesc has been a dancer in companies such as the Hessisches Staatsballett and IT Dansa Jove Companyia, working in productions by choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Ohad Naharin, Jirí Kylián, Crystal Pite, Tiffany Tregarthen & David Raymond, Imre & Marne van Opstal, Alexander Ekman, Xie Xin, and Edward Clug.

Francesc has taught contemporary dance and repertoire workshops at institutions such as Tanz Atelier Laila Castro Méndez, Danse Académie Vevey, and the Hessisches Staatsballett. He teaches and leads workshops with a focus on movement, performance and imagination.
